Description

Fused glass work is made in the kiln. The artist measures and cuts pieces of glass which are then placed together like a puzzle. Sometimes imagesÊorÊwords are painted directly on the glass. Once this is complete the piece is placed in the kiln for up to 12 hours reaching temperatures of up to 1500 degrees farenheit. After removing the glass from the kiln, it is washed and placed on findings before being put on display. (Made by glass artist Maki Kawakubo.)
