"Family" Japanese Pendant
Fused glass work is made in the kiln. The artist measures and cuts pieces of glass, and then places them together like a puzzle. Sometimes images or words are painted directly on the glass. The piece is then placed in the kiln for up to 12 hours, reaching temperatures of up to 1500 degrees fahrenheit. After the piece is removed from the kiln, it is washed and placed on findings before being put on display.
